How to Report Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect

resource-report

As soon as you suspect that a child is being abused or neglected, please report your concerns to the New York State Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR) at 800-342-3720— open 24-hours a day to take your call.

You can make this call anonymously.

Even if you have very little information on which to base your suspicion of abuse or neglect, you should still call the SCR. Trained professionals will determine whether the information you provided can be registered as a report. If it is, the SCR will then alert the local child protective services to begin an investigation.
