Part-time Weekend Visit Supervisors
The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Children (NYSPCC) is currently accepting applications for two part–time
weekend Visit Supervisors; for Saturdays from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and
Sundays from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
The Visit Supervisors will provide therapeutic supervised
visitation sessions between non-custodial parents and children involved
in custody disputes and/or for children currently in foster care placement.
Responsibilities include: writing reports for the court; conducting
intake interviews; counseling parents around issues of access, visitation,
and parenting; and making referrals for appropriate services.
LMSW and New York State licensure required. New graduates
or applicants without licensure must obtain licensure during the six-month
probationary period as a condition of continued employment. Two to five
years of experience working with high-conflict families, an understanding
of the complexities of divorce/separation, the custody and visitation
process and sound clinical judgment are essential. Experience in cases
involving domestic violence, substance abuse, child physical and sexual
abuse and mental illness is preferred. Must have excellent writing and
communication skills. For the Saturday position - bilingual
preferred; for the Sunday position - bilingual required.
